My experience and recovery from Hesitation, Stalling, No power on 760GLE 700

Id like to share my experience with you all and if any of it will help anyone out there Id be happy. My 760GLE (87) had problems of Hesitation, hard starts, high fuel consumption, stalling etc. It happened soon after I bought it ( second hand) last year. The body, tires were in excellent condition and had original volvo tape deck,equalizer. The mechanic first changed the O2 Sensor, then wires. Same problem, In the summer worked on it again, did a tune up, changed, wires, plugs, distributor cap and rotor. Same problem. Went back, changed the fuel filter. hesitation reduced, but Id drive it below 100km and didnt go over 3000rpms. Last week, I took it in for Enging and transmission oil change and the mufflers. ( The exhaust system has two mufflers). The can ran better but still not much power. We finally figured out, the CATALYCTIC CONVERTER was clogged. We replaced it ( Cnd$220) and Its restored lost power. I have a car running like new.
