Hatch lock 200 1979

Hi. Will a newer looking wagon hatch lock (no handle) work on my 79? The lock I have now is just fine, except I don 't have a key. It seems to protrude from the body whereas the newer lock looks like its flush (not TOTALLY flush, but like most other auto locks)Thanks folks!
