removal/replacment of the dizzy striker? 700

short story... car isn't starting... getting spark from coil, all wires are new... not getting any spark out of the dizzy cap... removed the cap and there is a crapload of build up on the dizzy cap... i can't tell on the striker because of where it is located... how do i remove the striker w/ out removing the dizzy or screwing anything up? figured i'd replace it as long as the cap is off
