Hello,
I've got an intermittent problem that is becoming very frustrating. The car is a 740 Turbo. When in gear and cruising along, the engine loses power momentarily as if a loss of fuel pressure. This is accompanied by a slow drop in rpms. Bliping the gas pedal will get the car to recover, usually with a spike in rpms. Sometimes giving light pressure on the gas pedal will not cause the rpms to go higher but you will see the boost gauge go higher. I've cleaned the TB, replaced the TPS, cleaned the IAC, also the car recently had both fuel pumps replaced along with the FP relay. The power loss never occurs with the car is in park. On another Brickboarder's suggestion I've tried two different replacement AMMs (one extra that came with the car and same part number AMM from my '87 240), and neither one affected the condition. Could this be some freaky intermittent ECU failure? I've also read that a fault voltage regulator will do weird stuff like this also. Any suggestions on what to test or replace next?
