Would you pay $300 US for this car? 200 1983

This car was advertized for a week in the local paper. The ad stated:

'83 VOLVO 240DL
Not running. Needs engine
work. $400 or best offer.

I paid $300 for it. Today after work it took me one hour and twenty minutes to replace the timing belt and drive away in the rain. The hardest part of the job was re-indexing and re-connecting the distributor, which had been removed by the owner and a friend in their attempts at diagnosing the problem.

It has 190,010 miles. It is M46/OD, cloth interior, and has power steering. It is equipped with a very rare gauge package, including factory tach, voltmeter, engine oil temperature and economy meter (vacuum gauge). The driver's seat needs re-building, and one tire is needed. Everything works, including the OD.

Did I pay too much?

My daughter (in the picture) wants the car.
