time estimate for shop to replace oil pan gasket.

I got my tools together, took the day off, bought a new oil pan gasket, put the car up, crawled underneath to tackle the job, looked at all the bolts and everything in the way and said, "no way in he11". So I am wondering what others estimate the length of time it would take a shop to replace the oil pan gasket (the RTV didn't hold). Most shop owners try to rip me off so I like to go in prepared (one time I was told the "bands" were likely burnt on my AW 71).
