Groan in front end on a 960 w/62,000 mile 900

Have a 1995, 960 with 62,000 miles. Can anyone offer advice on a fairly loud "groan"/squeak when I come to a stop, slowly go over speed humps or generally go at slow speeds? The noise is mostly audible from the interior. I've lubed the car twice, completely over a 250 mile span. Still no luck in eliminating it.
