Anyway, here's my issue: My '94 940 Turbo will not drop out of 4th "overdrive" gear, and into third, when I depress the O/D switch on the shifter. Nor will the arrow light appear on the dashboard.
Does this mean that the O/D relay is "stuck" in the "hot" position, ie., solenoid is always energized? And is the problem likely the relay?
Sorry...I *have* read the FAQ and other posts, but functionality of the O/D circuit gets confusing! It's compounded by the fact that I have a properly functioning '93 940 N/A, whose lockup torque converter behavior is absent from the Turbo (not equipped with lockup torque converter, I am told). As a sidenote, I wonder, why no lockup converter for the turbo? Seems it would help gas mileage.
