Crowfoot wrench on strut nut? 200 1987

Any of you know if a 15/16" crowfoot wrench can be used on the strut nut? I don't have an impact gun and I'd like to get my struts done this weekend. One of the guys mentioned previously that he had bent a 15/16" wrench at a 90 degree angle to get to the nut, but how would you do that? Heat it up, or just put it in a vise and beat it to death? Thanks guys.
