My daughter was driving the Silver Bullet in the rain and sprung a major tranny fluid leak from our driveway to her "the car won't go" stopping point about 3/4 mile away. I'll tell you the story about the county road crews sanding and graveling the road starting at our driveway and following her path all through our neighborhood some other time. Wait, I just did...
So I crawl under her a find both the tranny cooler lines had been cut in the same place (where one of those spacer blocks used to be, I'll bet)and repaired with 4 inch sections of rubber fuel line hose clamped into place. I don't know when this repair happened - I have had the car for a few years.
Assuming I still have a usable transmission (I know), I have bought two new lines from the dealer. When I replace the lines, do I need to seal the connector threads with anything? Is there anything special I should other than fill it with fluid and test it out?
Thanks,
Curt
