High Test Gas 200

I have a somewhat of a high-minded friend that insists that her 240 GLE "needs" high test gas. (Says it says so in the Owners Manual) I've had 2 240's and never put anything but regular in them. I thought I've been told that high test is a waste of money. Who is right?
