Hi,
I have been noticing the rubber thing on the top of the strut is cracking. It's some type of bushing, but I'm not sure what it is called. I have been putting off investigating it until know becuase I've been so busy. The other day I was backing out of a parking spot and I had the steering wheel locked when I heard a loud clunk. at frist I thought I hit a car, but there was no car around. Then I realized it came from the engine bay. I opened up the hood and noticed the rubber bushing thing had a large crack all the way around it. I really can't see any reason why it hasn't flown through my hood but I has stayed that way. The crack is getting worse and I'm wondering if I should try to replace this thing by myself, or take it to a shop. I was also wondering how serious is this condition. Could may strut fly through my hood while i'm driving?
