Around july, I found a 1993 940 turbo with 28000 miles on it. What a find, car is basically like new in everyway. The miles are for sure the actual, original miles. A month ago, I started to notice a moldy smell, didn't think much of it. After the nightmare I have been through with my 1987 240 with wet carpets, and replacing floorboards, ( the cars are never the same after this happens ) I can't even beleive I have another stinkin' leaker!!!!!!! I didn't know that the 940's have this problem too!! Shoot me in the head!! Well, the wife has asthma, and can't even drive it now, so I am catching flack about that too, (ever notice how it's always OUR fault when something out of our control happens to the car?)
Where do I start? I have done some searching in the archives, and have come up with a few ideas, like the windshiels, and the sealed off vents, behind the kicker panels to the left and right of the two front footwells. Man this sucks, the car now only has 31500 miles on it and the floorboards are wet. At least they used a different sound deadening material, than the stupid sponge in the 240's. It is weird, but the carpets don't feel wet to the touch, just a little damp. Will I have to replace the sound deadening material to ever get rid of the smell?
