93 940 wagon failed NJ emissions test 900

Inspection was due Oct. 2002. The ticket issued by a cop next town reminded me of that. Anyway, took it to inspection station two weeks ago. Failed NOx. The other readings were okay.

NOx 1933 vs. 937 permitted.

Based on my experience with one of my 94 SAAB 9000's which tested high NOx a year ago but passed subsequently with a new set of spark plugs, I did the same thing. Took to inspections yesterday with a new set of properly gapped plugs

Here are the new readings:

NOx 1759 vs. 937 permitted,
HC 75 vs. 124 permitted,
CO% 0.35 vs. 0.69 permitted,
CO2% 8.4
O2% 7.9

Help is appreciated.
