Rusted OEM Battery Tray 200 1981

I purchased a poorly maintained brick and am in the process of repairing it. The battery tray is the same color red as the body. The problem is that I have so much rust that I can't tell what's body and what's battery tray. I see four rusted bolts (which by the way I can't get off). So that I can remove only the old battery tray, what does the body's interface with the battery tray normally look like? Any other trips for dealing with this difficult situation? TIA
