tail gate moulding at bottom of the glass 900 1996

Help Please: Apparently the clips that hold the moulding that covers the seam between the bottom of the glass and the sheet metal on my wagon's tail gate are rusting because I see multiple streaks on top of the paint just below the strip. How do I take the strip off so I can fix this? Bump the strip left? right? ??
