I have (hopefully) successfully resoldered the fuel pump relay which appears due to solder cracking to have been the reason for my no start incident, but realised that my technique, solder and soldering iron (25W) were not up to scratch resulting in difficulty to make the solder flow and a clumsy repair. Is there a special solder and soldering iron to use for this kind of job, and is there a special technique involved in heating the new solder and terminals/existing solder to achieve a good flow and smooth appearance. Once the new solder was placed on the relay board I found it very difficult to make it heat and flow.
After the work I wanted to post a message with a picture taken with my digital camera of the completed relay. How do I do that, and do I have to reduce the size of the file?
Any help greatly appreciated.
