Should oil trap be replaced if gunk can be poured through it during oil change? 700 1990

I have the tall version of oil trap. I think it is original. A couple of months ago after draining the oil I emptied a can of Gunk into it via a funnel and it all came running out the oil pan plug hole. Does this mean the oil trap is O.K. or should I think about replacing it as part of preventative maintainance? If my car were anything other than a Volvo I would say it was a high mileage vehicle but since it is a Volvo I am just breaking it in.

Thanks a million, BDJ
