Greetings all,
I recently replaced my heater valve with the "updated" version. I want to say that it was manufactured by Scan Tech, but I don't recall the exact name on the packaging which I've already thrown away. The new one looks like a disc with a small arm to which attaches the temperature adjustment cable.
My question:
I was impressed with the new valve's ability to vary the heater's output temperature (compared to my old valve's "off/on" only ability). But following a long road trip this past week, I came to realize that the new valve will not completely stop the flow of hot water and a limited amount of hot air still comes out of the heater even when turned down to the full cold range. I checked the throw on the temperature adjustment cable and it operates from one extreme to the other. Has anyone else experienced this problem with the updated valve? I'm wondering if I have a defective valve or might there be some other problem? The only other possiblity I can think of is that I installed the valve " backwards" with respect to the direction of flow. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Tony Fontaine
