Hi 'board!

I normally hang out on the 200BB, my 80GT needing more TLC than our 90 744ti.

My sister needs a car, so we went shopping for my new favorite high value, low price vehicle... a 244. On the way, we bumped into a used car wholesaler who happened to have (among about eight other bricks) two 744's: '86 GLE/8V/M46/183K, and '88 Ti/M46/257K. Without getting into too much detail, the '86 had a little bit of wire rot, and generally felt closer to 300K than 200K. Just wore-out, you know?

The 88Ti, OTOH, was in great shape, except for broken lenses at all four corners (!!), inop AC, and rapidly expiring clutch. Other than that, it could have passed for 100K. Really nice to drive, just as solid and secure as our 90 with 115K. And MAN was it fast. Hoooo-ey!

Both cars are $1,200. Seller claims he can have the clutch disk replaced for ~$225 and the AC compressor (seized) replaced with used and recharged for ~$150. It's already converted to R134A.

Oh, and she felt the 244 was too small.

I plan on inspecting it this weekend if he'll hold it, call-back is pending. I guess I'm just looking for a vote of confidence/no-confidence.
