1800 '64 radio 1800

My epic reassembly of my '64 is nearly complete! I have the "Volvo by Bendix" radio from a '66 1800 ready. It doesn't fit!
If I do a tiny bit of filing on the old dash opening it will go but is going to collide with the window wiper. I'm sure these are the correct parts.
Is it normally so close, maybe zero to 1/32" clearance?

And, does anyone have the front/rear speaker option? If so, where does the front speaker mount?
