sedan tail lights---what's the diff? 200 1985

Greetings all-

I have a friend of mine who has a 85 244, and he backed into a SUV and broke a couple of tail lights on the passenger side. I have found some 86-93 tail lights, that looks the same as the 85 ones. What is the difference between the 85s and 86+?
