wiper motor 200 1989

alright...well my wiper motor went out and i replaced it. the only problem is, is that the timing of the motor is now off. when i turn it off it remains in the up position rather than laying down on the bottom of the windshield. what can i do to get my windshield wipers to get back to its normal rotation?
