anyone see a problem with fabricating my own lower chassis braces? 200

IPD sells the things for $48, and they go on ebay for almost that. The upper braces have some funny angles and such to worry about, but the lower braces just look like a metal tube flattened at one end. Heck, I figure I could make a set of those for under 4 bucks. Would anyone see a possible problem with that? A small piece of thin steel pipe hammered down at each end with a hole? What is worth 50 bucks about these?
