960 wipers quit 900

We got some snow the other day, and I hit the wipers on my snow-covered '95 960 without clearing off the windshield first. There was enough snow that the wipers couldn't go all the way back down, so I got out and cleared the snow out from under them. After this, they don't work! I can hear the wiper motor working, so it doesn't seem to be a fuse. Any ideas on this problem? I'd like to see if it's something simple before taking it in. Thanks for any help.
