Shifter Knob Woes 200 1981

I have an M45/4 speed manual w/o overdrive that I want to change my shifter knob. I can't remove the !*(# knob; pulling and rotating the knob don't get it off. I don't see any pins or screws securing it. How do I get the knob off? TIA!
