We have two Volvos with a possible third one on the way, all with non-turbo B230 engines. I wanted to put together an emergency roadside repair and parts package for all the cars, but I got stuck when it came to the hoses. I thought they all used the same size hoses, but upon closer inspection I discovered that the lower rad hose and the expansion tank hoses on the 740 are longer than on the 240. However, I think the longer 740 hoses would go on the 240 but not vice versa. So, I would only need to prepare on emergency kit and then just switch it between cars.
Now, the upper rad hoses do look the same, but a parts guy told me that even that upper hose is different, or at least has a different part number. But I could not see where those hoses differed, when I lined the two cars up side by side. Can anyone confirm this? ... Not a problem just wondering which one is the longer of the two.
