Overdrive Solenoid acting up...i think 700 1991

Good morning all,

I've read the posts about the AW 71 not shifting in to OD because the relay is bad or it intermittently shifting in and out, but my problem is a little different.

For a while now, my overdrive has not been kicking in after 3rd as it should. Not until I drive for 30 minutes at 3000 RPM and then, magically, the transmission shifts into "4th" as if there was absolutely nothing wrong.

Recently, I had the transmission rebuilt. All the seals were changed and the fluid as well. This, I thought, would surely fix whatever problems I had. Well it fixed all of them. Except for my tranny not shifting into OD!

I'm at my wit's end about this. Could it be I have to change my solenoid?
