should I fix it? 700 1989

I am fairly new to VOLVO products and so far so good! I am enjoying the 1989 760 Turbo Intercooler car (355000 km) that I purchased last summer. However, it now requires about $1500 worth of maintenance (lots of leaky parts) in order to make it more fuel efficient and reduce oil leaks. I am unsure about the cars value and whether to go ahead and pay for the repairs, just drive it, or trade it in for something newer. Any suggestions? I would consider a newer Volvo now that I have driven it for a few months. What great cars!
