How do you replace the lever that releases the rear seats in the wagon 200 1989

It's a tan handle behind the rear seats that allow you to lower the rear seats to increase storage space. When you open the latch/wagon and look toward the front of the engine, if the seats are upright, it's the little t-shaped handle in the middle. Mine is broken such that I don't have any area to grab with pliers to more the seats flat manually.
