Fuel pump relay, melting plug socket 200

As the weather gets cooler down here in Texas I'm frequently having to give my resoldered FPR a tap to get it to work. I have a few back ups that I plugged in today but they were all dead too. Too cold for them.

So I jumped terminals 5 and 7, started her up and rode to work, no problems. For a test as I pulled into my parking spot I unhooked the jumper wires and the fuel pumps continued to work; so I guess as the car interior warmed up the relay came alive. So I'm contemplating taking my relay inside at night.

Also, the FPR plug seemed to be partially melted. Anyone have similar experiences or can tell me why the plug is appeared deformed from overheating?

Josh
