740 turbo wont start 700 1985

I am the owner of a 85 740 turbo almost 280000miles
I bought the car with a blown head gasket, but it started and ran badly, I changed the head gasket, now it turns over but wont start. Cam and crank seem aligned correctly, has spark, good fuel pressure to fuel rail. I changed the coolant temp sensor as it looked cracked (not sure if I bumped it or an old wound). What I think is the o2(greek lambda symbol and SOND) sensor light is on, on the dash. My fine owners manual says that that space has nothing(supposedly no o2 sensor light on car. My fine chilton manual says nothing. I am not sure if the light was on before I took it apart.
I have many questions: Could a faulty o2 sensor cause it not too start? (It started with difficulty before I changed head gasket which was actually blown between 2&3)?
Is it likely that the o2 sensor light is reflecting another FI problem other than the o2 sensor?
What ist the Hall sensor in the distributor cap- I read that the connector can crack and short the sensor to the distributor, causing FI difficulties, could this be a no start problem?
How can I check if the injectors are actually working or not without a multimeter?
I hope someone can help
aaron
