I have been watching my local paper for a potential parts car for my 1983GL, OR a car for my daughter to learn to drive in. Today is an ad for a 1981 264 manual. Aside from the manual transmission debate, am I correct that the 6-cyl engines do not enjoy the reputation of the 4-cyl? Should I stay clear of a 6-cyl? (Price was less than $1000, but I haven't seen it to check for rust; I'm in Kansas).
