96 960 wagon 900 1996

I found a 96 960 wagon in the paper recently for $8,250 and it has 70,000 mi. Are there any specific questions I would want to ask the seller. Is there anything I should look out for with this year/model. I'm new to the world of Volvo, but I'm pretty sure it's the type of car I want considering I have two young children. Are there any other years/models I might want to check out? I specifically want one with a third seat for those occasions when I have to transport more than 2 children. Thanks!
