Is it normal for the fuel pump relay to feel very warm to the touch? 200 1980

It's a long story, but while I was driving, I happened to touch the green/under the dash fuel pump relay. It was warm to the touch. Having fixed a blown relay a few weeks ago, I'm concerned whether it's normal to have a relay that is warm to the touch, but still able to allow one to hold in one's hand.
