My son's 245 has a wet floor, and we've been excavating. We've got the side channels cleaned and the drains opened up (they were clogged, of course), and found and fixed another possible water entry point (along the radio antenna cable, which passed through an ungrommetted hole next to the Jetronic box. So far so good.
But the heater drains have us stumped. The Archives tell me that there are drains, that they're rubber (like some I remember on a Saab), and that one can find their ends by crawling under the car and looking on the sides of the transmission. Seems reasonable and straightforward.
But I can't find them from underneath. Any clues?
And while we're at it: the floor in this car (it's an 88) is so far rust-free. There's a round depression in the floor sheet metal under the driver's left foot, which looks as though the designers thought they'd install one of those 2" nylon plugs, then changed their mind and didn't. I wonder if a small (1/4", say) hole in this depression - the lowest part of the front floor - might be a good idea. What do you think?
