Timing belt, valve, adjustment, & Cam 200 1993

I just finished installing a new timing belt, tb tensioner, v-belts, and also did a valve adjustment. While I had it all apart, I decided to install the IPD VX cam and the adjustable camshaft timing gear.

The install went smoothly. I did the work over two days...maybe it was 12 hours work (first time doing this). The faqs on this board plus the Bentley manual were invaluable in getting this done. The only hitch I had was a broken lower timing belt cover. I had to run down to the dealer for a replacement. The valve adjustment called for adjustment on 5 of the 8 valves.

The VX cam plus the adjustable cam timing gear seem to make a nice difference. I am currently set for +4 degrees on the gear. It doesn't turn the car into a turbo or anything, but the torque delivery is much flatter. The torque doesn't die at 40 mpg anymore.

This is my wife's car. She said that she didn't notice anything different. But, I was driving behind her yesterday and she was flying.
