Okay, where to start. Maybe the no-start very loud CLICK! when the key is turned. Thought it was the starter because you could whang the solinoid with a hammer and it would start. Had the starter rebuilt ($70 US well spent, huh? well I'll call it preventitive maintainence.) Started fine for the first half dozen starts then CLICK! Tonight stuck at the mall. CLICK!, CLICK! CLICK!, START. (WOO-HOO!!) Drove straight to Advance and had them check the battery. It is a generic battery couldn't find a label so he checked it at 500 CCA's and 650 CCA's. Both times battery showed good cells, low charge. He then checked the alternator. Values there were: diodes good, 105 amps output, regulator voltage was right at 13 volts. The alternator guage has always stayed at 12 o'clock with no load but right above the red with the lights on and with the blower on into the red, but the low charge light never comes on. Before I had the starter redone the CLICK!'s were getting more frequent, and within the last few days it has had a surging idle, up and down, and has started stalling.

I guess my main question is would the rough running and stalling be because of a bad alternator and/or regulator. And are the values for the alternator good and should I look at the wiring instead.

Have cleaned and checked all grounds but not sure how to check the wiring otherwise.

Thanks folks.
