I'm not fond of working on the 850's so I've turned my sites at the '98 V90 which was the last year of the RWD?
Currently keeping an '89 760 Turbo wagon alive. Had it since 1998. Things are strarting to crumble - plastics are snapping (headrests, driver door) locks are wearing out, windows are leaking air, headliner is fallen, driver door starting to rust out from water leaking thru window, etc.
Transmission is starting to have a funny sound - "crunching" - ewww. Engine needs valve work and tappets adjusted or replaced. Cold idle rough and needs time to find problem (electrical, false air, etc).
What's the worst problem with the V90? I know with the 850's was the heater core and the A/C.
I spent $8500 on a 9 year old 760 in 1998. Spending $13000 on a 1998 V90 (6 year old with 64,000 miles) sound silly?
I appreciate any of your input - short or long. I'm not against working on my car for mechanical failures, but these small, non-AutoZone items tend to annoy me.
Thanks
