poor mileage 240gl 200

hi,

i was just wondering why the mileage in my car is so bad.

i get about 350K to a tank (say around 50L)

that's about 14L/100k

i have a 1983 b23e with 3sp auto (bw55) and i am under the impression the car should get around 10L/100k with better 8L/100k on the highway.

when i had my car tuned up about 6mo ago the mechanic said i need new valves. plus the car has been rocking a bit on idle, but i have had the engine mounts replaced when the car became roadworthy.

what's the most likely explanation for this poor mileage?
