740 dies when putting it in drive or reverse 700

Hi all,

I just picked up a 87 wagon and it was running ruff the first two days. The third day it rained and after warming it up I put it in drive and it died. I have not been able to get it to run since. I have searched the archives knowing I have seen the this posted before. thanks in advance
