MAF question?? (kinda long) 900

Hi,

Well, my car has been running awesome and this morning..I had a hard time seeing through my windshieldcuz it had frost on it. So i went to autozone and bought some de-icer..I started the car and I began to empty the old winhsield washer fluid by continously spraying my windshield after 5 minutes the car suddenly died on me..tried to re-start but it wouldn't. Pop the hood open and i noticed that there was fluid leaking out of the waher lines and it dripped all over the distibutor cap. I got some paper towel and dried the surface..then i re-started the car. it fired right up..test drove it and about 3 miles away from my house i stopped at a stop sign and the RPM started to fluctuate..I gave it some gas but it wouldn't go then the car stalled..I opened the hood to check and I noticed smoke coming out of the air box..not a whole lot of smoke but it was clearly visible. I re-started the car and it started fine. Drove it home and the car didn't stall. Took the airbox a part but no more smoke. Cleaned the IAC motor and Throttle body. I started the car and the car ran sluggish..the RPM fluctuated and the car then stalled. So..I disconnected the MAF..started it and the car ran pefect..i mean the RPM was steady on 1K..gave it some gas and still okay..Check Engine light came on..hooked the MAF back and once again the idle was steady..didn't get a the chance to test drive ti since it was getting cold and dark out. Could this be because of the distibutor cap getting soaked or could my MAF be bad? Is there a way to test the MAF to see if it is working properly. thanks.
