Horn Diagnosis Help Requested 900

Car: My beater, no, not a beater. 1993 944, Rex-Regina with a 1995 engine.

This is as far as I got, so far. I have 12V to the horns via the yellow wire. At the horn I grounded the blue black horn terminal that goes back to the switch and the horns work as expected. All terminals were cleaned lubed and put back together.

I have to trace the hot wire back up to the horn switch and then to ground. Next I am going to remove the plastic cover for horn switch, I suppose, but I don’t know what to expect or what to check for. According to the wiring diagram there is a ground at the column. How can I get to that ground? What else should I look for.

Thanks in advance!!!

The photo has nothing to do with the horn.
