letting your Vo warm up? 200

well, it's winter up here in canada and i just wanted to know whether or not it's better to let my grey 90 240 brick warm up after starting or is it better to just hop in and drive so that the engine will warm up quicker...i suppose this isn't just a volvo-specific question but i've heard people favouring both methods...does anyone know definitively what is best for your car?
thanks
cold in canada
