Rear Wagon tailights....help? 200 1992

Hi All -

I have a 1992 240 Wagon...with 170,000 miles. My "light out" warning indicator on my dash came on....I found it coming from the back tailight. The bulb looked fine...but I replaced it anyway. it still does not work...the light comes on fine, when I put the lights on...but if I apply the brake -- no brake light???

Is this a rear wire harness issue (the ones that go through the wagon door - they are a little cracked when you look in the hinge on top of the car)?

Any help/suggestions would be great.
