Just wanted to reiterate what a great resource the FAQ's are. Our 91 940SE decided not to start on Saturday. My thoughts went immediately to failed fuel pumps, relays, AMM and all those other bits that serve to drain the wallet.
Upon consulting the FAQ section, I read the suggestion to start with regular maintainance and tune items first. So, I checked the spark plugs. They were worn to the point that the gap was nearly double spec. No wonder it wouldn't start. Probably explains the increasingly poor gas mileage we've been getting around town too.
New set of Bosch Platinums and the family wagon started on the first twist. I had set the whole afternoon aside to troubleshoot, so I decided to clean the throttle body too. WhooHooo! What a difference. Between those two items the car idles about 300 rpm higher and the butt-o-meter tells me that it's got a pretty good gain in throttle response too.
Thanks to all who contribute to and maintain the FAQ. To everybody else, I say, "USE IT!"
