1991 740SE Turbo engine dies/A/C button-light flashes

trouble since I came to an abrupt stop to avoid an accident and the engine stopped. After restating it now just dies usually goin up an incline and accelerating; then this warning light begins flashing from the A/C start/stop button. The manual says to see the dealer if this light flashes but they have no idea what the warning light is for.. anyone have any answer to this problem?? Thanks Note: it does not stall is just dies!!(not fuel related more like an electrical thing???
