Front left suspension - NOT bearing? 700 1992

I have a very VERY nasty shake in the front left suspension, after doing a strut/sway bar upgrade (Bilstein/IPD). It developed over the period of about 3 days of driving after the swap. At first, I had a very minor vibration, now I won't drive the car as the wheel visably moves back and forth 1 inch or more (forwards and backwards, not up and down) when cornering right (Always fun to run alongside your car in a parking lot while doing circles!) and shakes & grinds like a cement mixer. Upon some night-time investgation, I couldn't find anything loose, and all bushings seemed to be solid enough, though I will be replacing them this weekend as a matter of preventative maintenance.

So, my question is this, is there any chance that this is a really blown bearing? At $300 for the pair, I would love to avoid buying them unless needed! Any other thoughts on what this might be? Hard cornering left makes the problem go away for the duration of the cornering.

Thanks as always folks, its been a while!

-Elliott
