Looking for a Volvo tech in Northern LA County, CA

I have a friend who lives in Northern LA County who is considering his first Volvo buy. He asked me (I am 3000 miles away) if I knew anyone through a club, etc. who could direct him towards someone that could inspect and critique any Volvo he may find, before he buys it.

Any tech or experienced back yard mechanic would be great.
