Occasionally you come out ahead just buying a better part to start with... 700 1990

One year ago I had my starter rebuilt for $87.00. Last week the solonoid wouldn't kick in at 5 degrees F. It also didn't have a lot of starting power. No, I don't know what they neglected to do when they rebuilt the starter. So off to FCP Groton to buy another starter (Bosch reman) for $106.00 plus $8.00 shipping (UPS ground). I put it in this morning (1.0 hr. labor) and it starts the car faster than the old starter ever did. I think next time I'll just skip the rebuild and go straight for the reman- after all it was only $27.00 more.
